All about your child���s first time moment=?UTF-8?Q?s=20in=20school?=


The minute he steps inside the gates of his school, your child is bound to experience many first time moments. The school is a good place for your child to nurture his social skills and make friends. It is also a good avenue for him to mingle with different types of people and discover the different lifestyles of other children. To celebrate some of your child’s first moments in school, we have put together this helpful and fun issue.

To give your child a smart start on how to make friends, here are some helpful tips to encourage your child to reach out and establish new friendships. Nonetheless, we also understand that your child needs to be equipped in the language of conflict management. That’s why we have included tips on how your child can deal with disagreements among friends. This issue is also packed with play date ideas which you can do for your child and his buddies.

  This school year, help your child establish new relationships. Sometimes, all he needs is just a little bit of encouragement to reach out to other kids.  
  Create a memorable play date for your kid and his new friends. This would help your child bond with his new buddies. Make sure that you include activities that would encourage them to work as a team. Read more about play dates here.

  Disagreements among friends cannot be avoided. That’s why it’s important that you help your child deal with it the right away because this is something that he will carry on until he grows up. It can be frustrating at times, most especially if he feels like he’s the victim of the argument. So make sure that you’re gentle yet firm and patient with him when explaining ways to handle conflict with grace.

Arguments can sometimes get the best of us. Before you know it, words you don’t really mean have already been hurled at the other person. So it’s best that you walk away to cool down.   For this issue, Nilani tackles questions about after-school snacks and eating healthy during examinations.

She suggests three delicious snacks that you can whip up for your growing child. Try making a delicious bowl of Chicken Sopas. This all-time rainy day favorite is sprinkled with chopped veggies for one healthy snack. You can also make delicious pancakes with a fruity twist. Another suggestion is to give him a bowl of crunchy cereals. It’s both healthy and hefty!
